about

Hi there! My name is Ana and I am currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Communication, Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. I’ve just finished my PhD at the Digital Media Research Centre at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Australia.

My research interests include football cultures, digital media, everyday politics, innovative methodologies and frame analysis. In my PhD thesis, I analysed the historical developments of the political economy of football in Brazil and the implications of digital media for the ordinary  practices of football supporters.

If you are interested in my work, my PhD thesis is found here, and I also talked about it in a recent interview with A/Prof. Brett Hutchins (Monash University) for the Media Sport Podcast Series that he produces (the interview is available here). You can find me on Twitter, at the Lattes Platform, Academia.edu, or email me at acvimieiro [at] gmail [dot] com.

Thanks for stopping by! 😉
